After Thunderstorm

Quite an incredible, powerful sunset after a thunderstorm yesterday. Our deck lights are at the bottom.

Good Morning!! I ran downstairs to the jewelry studio to get a neck ring and this is the sight that awed me outside the window!! Looking in fine form!! The girls just kept eating the corn...not impressed.

Big Flapping

Something just caught my eye on the deck....lots of flapping, big, waving wings! Eyeing the bird feeder, oh no!!

Deer

Outside the jewelry studio, eating cracked corn, secretly taken through a window and screen. We have been seeing a doe and her "teen" baby around the yard lately.

Forsythias

New Moon of March, the 22nd, 2012, the earliest we've ever seen the forsythias bloom! One of ours at the top of our driveway, the other by our neighbors barn. Magnolias are out too!!

Turkeys are back!

The turkeys have returned to the ridge in full force from wherever they go (reservoir/thickets/lower ground?), and are looking good. This is from my jewelry studio window.

Steep Rock Reservation

Great hiking place with marked trails, where boulders become stepping stones across streams, and roots become stairways. Just 10min away from home, near Washington, Ct. Had lunch at GW's tavern after a 3hr hike.

Pilated Woodpeckers

I saw one on our stump out back, went for the camera, when the second flew in! Looking like pterodactyls, and about 14"long, these two usually stay in the deep forest!

Creatures

Love Creatures, especially an Indonesian Dragon, found laying eggs in her nest, and released right after this photo was taken; a peeking owl, and my owl print available on my website, www.patgullettdesigns.com. Life is wonderful, mystical, and full of surprises.

Copyright....self preservation. While doing the Old Town Triangle Art Show back in Chicago some years ago, two guys came in, really interested in buying one of my originals.....Dawn of the Jaguar. Said it was for their Uncle who lived downtown, a surprise. Well, the surprise came for me when driving downtown one day, there was my Jaguar, background photo shopped out, on a billboard!!
