Secret Garden Essex, Ct

Commenting on the beautiful flowers a man was watering in front of his home in Essex, he said "Let me show you a secret!". In the back was this amazing English garden, where he plans to add an English glasses Conservatory in the near future. Amazing, fun surprise for us.

WWII Painting for a Model

My husband always loved this model as a kid, and found the actual kit, still in cellophane wrapping at an antique store. He started wondering about the original art. Magic happened. Just this year, the artist produced giclee prints of that exact image! Beautiful!!!

Sun & Shadows

There's something about sunrise in the spring. The light hitting the trees, the shadows in the forest, the new green coming through the trees, mysterious & cool. And the colors are brilliant!!!

Steep Rock Reservation

Great hiking place with marked trails, where boulders become stepping stones across streams, and roots become stairways. Just 10min away from home, near Washington, Ct. Had lunch at GW's tavern after a 3hr hike.

Pilated Woodpeckers

I saw one on our stump out back, went for the camera, when the second flew in! Looking like pterodactyls, and about 14"long, these two usually stay in the deep forest!

Creatures

Love Creatures, especially an Indonesian Dragon, found laying eggs in her nest, and released right after this photo was taken; a peeking owl, and my owl print available on my website, www.patgullettdesigns.com. Life is wonderful, mystical, and full of surprises.

Shepaug River Hike

Just found a gorgeous river hiking area, tucked away off Rt 109, along the Shepaug River. Plus, it's only about a 10 min drive from our home. Ct is full of secret roads, hidden lakes, and incredible hiking trails. Great inspiration.

Halloween Storm 2011

We had 17" of heavy, wet snow here in western Connecticut, that smashed any tree and bush with leaves on it. This is the calm after the storm. 60 degree days now are so relished!!

Happy New Year

Blue Moon of December

A gorgeous brilliant December full moon, shining on frost covered woods, on a crystal clear night: New England doesn't get much better than this. Plus, the second full moon will glow New Years Eve. Cool!!!
