Windy, snow on the ground, fireplace going, this is my cozy place to be.

Overnight Snow

This all happened in 4 hrs time, 2-24-12. We had no snow on the ground last night, and woke up to this in the morning! It won't last long with temps predicted to reach 45 today in our western Ct river town. We live high on the ridge, so things are a bit more, last a bit longer, than down in town. Magical place to live.

My Style

I like living with my collectibles. Colored bottles, sea shells, a teacup from the Eiffel Tower, winged candleholders found under a table at a quaint shop, are soothing reminders of the sea and wonderful trips.

Shepaug River Hike

Just found a gorgeous river hiking area, tucked away off Rt 109, along the Shepaug River. Plus, it's only about a 10 min drive from our home. Ct is full of secret roads, hidden lakes, and incredible hiking trails. Great inspiration.

Fossil Ammonite Earrings

While doing the Paradise City show in Massachusetts, a geology professor wanders into my booth, drawn by these earrings. He asked if I knew what I had there! Fused Denim Lapis Earrings

Fusing pieces of sterling to a curved sterling base with just the right about of torch flame can be tricky. Too much and you melt the silver, too little and it falls off. These are just right, with two deep denim lapis stones to highlight the sterling. Patina creates deep contrast between the pieces, and all is bezel set, with sterling French ear wires.
