Doing Istanbul

We're walking, and walking, and now for Mahmutpasa Yokusu, the street of a thousand shops, on the way to the Grand Bazaar! In the GB we discovered Kerem, the man with the coolest Astrology devices used for navigating. What a treasure! Pic of me on the balcony at Topkapi Palace. We love this place!

Istanbul Hippodrome

Turkish Taffee Vendor

Obelisks and Minarets in Hippodrome

Road to Archaeological Museum
The Ancient Hippodrome in Istanbul is a park gathering place for Everybody! Vendors sell some hot, filled pita bread, corn on the cob, and of course, Turkish Taffee! It's right down the street from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. We always felt SAFE, accepted, and welcomed.

Istanbul

Istanbul
What a great memorable 25th Anniversary experience. Fountains are found all over the city for refreshing your face, washing hand, feet.
Dome of the Blue Mosque, called that because of the intricate blue inlaid tiles.

Istanbul

Just returned from a wondrous adventure to Istanbul, Crete, and Athens. Narrow cobblestone streets led us to Byzantine Churches, amazing museums, and truly ancient ruins. A dream come true. I love Hagia Sophia, Church of the Holy Wisdom that is now a museum, in Istanbul. Great to actually see the many images I studied so long ago in Art History classes.
