I'll be teaching a Basic PMC class this coming week-end at Brookfield, Ct. I'll also have some new work at the Brookfield Holiday show, running from Nov. 1-Dec. 24, 2008. Come to the quaint cluster of historic red barn buildings to buy all your one of a kind, hand crafted in America, Christmas gifts.
My article in Art Jewelry Magazine, November issue, is out on the stands. View various techniques to colorize copper, and add it to any number of creative pieces. Art Jewelry is a great magazine filled with ideas from marketing your work, to new creative techniques.
I'll be having work in the Creative Arts Workshops Holiday Show, New Haven, Ct. The Gala opening is Nov. 7, and the work will be available thru Dec. 24, 2008. They have a great gallery exhibit space. Buy a wonderful, original piece of art, and be contributing to classes and coming exhibits at CAW.
Please use the above to directly link to the wonderful Bird Lady of Altamonte Springs. She is loved by many, and is now working with us on the other side of the veil. We will miss her life presence, but are blessed to have her spirit.
A wonderful woman has passed to the other side. Ann Young, known as the Bird lady of Altamonte Springs, in Florida, was loved by many, an inspiration to all, and the savior to hundreds of baby birds. Read about her at www.marinadedave.wordpress.com.
Today I found a wild turkey feather left on my deck, and yesterday I completed the piece I thought should be called Thunderbird. But now I think it's more like the first in my "Winged Ones" series, and its name is "Spirit". Today I received an e-mail from a woman who had "stumbled" across my www.howlingmoonstudio.com site, telling me about Ann Young. Many syncronicities coming together..........don't you think?
This is a new piece I've just completed with a gorgeous pink tourmaline on top, one of my Wheel of Life pieces in the center, and carved bone hanging at the bottom. Small pink & green tourmalines dangle from the top of the neck ring, like little stars over the majestic Thunderbird. Each piece names itself, and I just kept hearing "Thunderbird" for this one. It's about 4" long, on a forged neck ring. Now to make matching earrings!!
