Fossil Ammonite Earrings

While doing the Paradise City show in Massachusetts, a geology professor wanders into my booth, drawn by these earrings. He asked if I knew what I had there! I told him all about them, and amazed, he said he'd wear them if he could get away with it! He thought they were a gorgeous pair. Find them on my website, www.patgullettdesigns.com.
It's all Paypal enabled now.

Fused Denim Lapis Earrings

Fusing pieces of sterling to a curved sterling base with just the right about of torch flame can be tricky. Too much and you melt the silver, too little and it falls off. These are just right, with two deep denim lapis stones to highlight the sterling. Patina creates deep contrast between the pieces, and all is bezel set, with sterling French ear wires. They are mysterious and remind me of Dragons. 3/4"w x 1"l, on www.etsy.com/shop/patgullett

Mayan Portal Earrings

I've just opened an Etsy Shop, www.etsy.com/shop/patgullett. In my new spirit of "Do the best you can with what you've got!!" for 2012, here are a pair of Mayan Portal Earrings of fine silver, sterling, and red glass beads.

Changing Times

Brookfield Craft Center, where I taught for 9 yrs is closing its doors. I will be teaching 2 classes at the Washington Craft Center, Ct. in July and Aug.
Lyndhurst Art show was good, with nice weather and buyers turning out for one of a kind art. Looking forward to Paradise City, Northampton, Mass, at the end of this month. New work includes sculptural Talismans, like "The Sea Talisman", shown here.
I'm still teaching private classes, and may be creating group workshops, in my studio, for the fall.

Touchstone

Here's a sample of my new Touchstone series. This is titled Goddess Touchstone, with my original solar plate textures, and shaped over an actual stone. It hangs from fine silver shaped from a bone, with a luscious green tourmaline overlooking all. Aquamarine and tourmaline beads accent the sterling chain. More to come as I wait for a snowy nor'easter to roll in.

Living on the Edge

I find myself working in a different way. I go staight to the workbench and start to arrange colors, textures, maybe a sketch, but it's more like creating in the moment. Very interesting way to work, and I feel like a collaborator with the materials.

Tolkien Magic

Writing from the Tolkien Ring for me, is Magic, Fellowship, inner Truth, Peace, and following your heart. To remember each day, the Magic Essence of who each of us really is, every moment in our gift of life, would be a great goal indeed.
Happy Thanksgiving!

New is In

Life has changed. It's time to redefine ourselves, be our own boss, and keep creating. Expect the unexpected, and know that all the "facts" are shifting, ephemeral elements, each with individual interpretations. It's a good time to create new opportunities.
